Positions Currently Available 

CDL Driver, A or B Endorsement

Full time position.  Drive the Bloodmobile or vans to and from mobile sites on Oahu.  Loading and unloading of equipment; sets up and breaks down mobile drives; lifting requirements up to 50#.  Preps supplies and equipment, pack blood bags units and samples for safe transport.  Pick up and delivers blood and blood products from mobile sites to Blood Bank laboratory.  Requires travel to neighbor islands, staying 3 days and 2 nights.  Assists with vehicle maintenance, to include pre-and post-departure checklists.  Also assists with inventory and supply; to include pickups and deliveries. 

No parking is available on site.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.  Valid CDL license with A or B endorsement; bus driving experience highly preferred.

2.  Clean abstract - please include a copy of current abstract with application.

3.  Must be able to work flexible hours, between Sunday - Saturday, including holidays.  Hours may start as early as 4:00 am and end as late as 8:30 pm, depending on mobile assignment.  

4.  Lifting requirement up to 50#.

5.  Able to travel to neighbor islands and to stay 3 days and 2 nights.

6.  Must have good attention to detail, accurate with completing forms, ability to comprehend detailed oral and written information.

 

Field Representative Assistant

Responsible for providing clerical support to the Field Representatives to assist in successfully meeting account needs and coordinating the documentation for all assigned blood drives/sponsorships to facilitate the efficiency of operations.  Assists in developing and expanding donor participation for assigned accounts both locally and on neighbor islands.  Also provides clerical support to the Director of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.  Prior experience in sales and marketing.

2.  Valid Hawaii driver's license and use of own vehicle in the job.

3.  Goal-oriented self starter with ability to take iniative, be creative, work independently and as part of a team to productively collaborate, meet goals and objectives and ensure smooth and efficient operations.

4.  Good analytical, assessment, judgement and problem-solving skills with ability to recognize areas of concern, able to review/analyze data, clarify information and to come up with possible solutions to resolve.

5.  Excellent skills in human relations - possess sound judgement in dealing with others; good listening skills with the ability to receive and comprehend detailed oral or written information.  Must be able to relate effectively with diverse individuals and to maintain professionalism with co-workers, donors and public at all times.

6.  Good organizational and time management skills - ability to multi-task, maintain a positive attitude and composure under time constraints, detail-oriented, and ability to maintain accuracy with good follow-through.

7.  Must be computer literate - Word Excel, ACCESS, PowerPoint, internet.

8.  Must have professional, business-like appearance, flexible with schedule - be able to adjust to varying work schedule and days off, and ability to travel.

  

Phlebotomists (Nursing Services Specialist) - FT

 

Greet, screen and care for donors throughout the donation process.  Performs medical histories, take vital signs and phlebotomies on volunteer blood donors.  Will be scheduled on mobile sites throughout Oahu, however, will be provided with transportation to and from the main office to the mobile site.  Mobiles also include neighbor island travel.  Airfare, hotel and ground transportation arranged and paid for by Blood Bank of Hawaii.  Must be a team player with excellent customer service skills.

No parking is available on site. 

Minimum Qualifications:

1.  Medical Assistants or Certified Nursing Assistant with State certification preferred, with employment experience. 

2.  Employment experience performing phlebotomies as a part of duties preferred (phlebotomy certificate not required). 

3.  Must be available to work flexible hours between Sunday - Saturday, including holidays.  Hours may start as early as 4:00 am and end as late as 8:30 pm (or later), depending on mobile assignment.

4.  Must be able to travel to neighbor islands and stay over for up to 3 days and 2 nights.

5.  Must have a current, valid driver's license.  Learner's Permits are not accepted. 

6.  Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds to help set up and breakdown mobile sites.

7.  Scrubs are assigned, but must have own stethoscope, white, covered shoes and a watch with a second hand.
