Executive Secretary, Full Time
Provides secretarial support to the Chief Financial Officer to achieve departmental and Blood Bank of Hawaii goals and objectives, parts of which are highly sensitive and confidential. Responsible for the orderly flow and execution of department tasks, assignments and projects, including the organization of departmental files, correspondence, reports, etc. Must be able to relate effectively to the public by providing accurate information in a courteous, complete and timely fashion. Arranges Board of Director meetings, prepares agenda and packets, take minutes of meetings. Must have use of own vehicle to deliver packets to the Board members. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software – Word and Excel. Must be able to draft correspondence, do mail merges, create spreadsheets. PowerPoint a plus.

Laboratory Assistants, Full Time
Prepares and modifies blood components from whole blood for storage, transfusion or further manufacture. Documents the preparation and labels the blood components. Work shift would normally run from the early afternoon into the evenings, but must be able to adjust hours to meet the need for blood in the community. Must be available for training full-time from 8:00 am – 4:30 pm for at least eight weeks. Position requires a working comprehension of specific and designated laboratory procedures and tasks, be able to read and follow directions and perform procedures that are considered to be straightforward in nature. Must possess manual dexterity and be able to use and maintain laboratory equipment to include performing routine instrument maintenance. Prefer a science degree from an accredited college or equivalent experience. Requires high level of attention to detail; ability to lift 50 pound packages and containers. Medical/clinical laboratory experience preferred.

Medical Technologist, Full Time
Duties include reference laboratory work, donor viral testing, labeling and performing quality control on reagents and components. Must be able to operate and maintain equipment in a heavily regulated environment. Must have an understanding of underlying scientific principles and technical/procedural aspects of laboratory testing. Requires a degree in Medical Technology and Hawaii State license..

Phlebotomists, Full Time
Greet, screen and care for donors throughout the donation process. Will perform medical histories, vital signs and phlebotomies on volunteer blood donors. Must be a team player with excellent customer service. Will be scheduled on mobile sites throughout the State, however, Blood Bank will provide transportation from the main office to the site. Must be available to work flexible hours between Sunday – Saturday with start times and end times varying with mobiles.

RN Manager, Full Time
Assists with all facets of managing, controlling and providing effective leadership and supervision in the nursing department. This includes, but not limited to, regulatory compliance, standard operation procedure compliance, safety compliance, operational efficiency, customer service, training and development, and strategic planning. Will have frequent interaction with employees in all departments, blood donors and mobile drive sponsors. Must be able to maintain a professional and courteous working relationship with individuals at all levels of the organizations while working efficiently to meet quality and time standards. Requires current Hawaii Nursing license; BA in Nursing or graduation from an accredited school of nursing, college or university; five (5) years nursing experience of which three (3) years in blood banking preferred; five (5) years supervisory experience; previous risk management and compliance experience desirable.

Supply Specialist, Full Time
Assists in the distribution of blood and blood products to community hospitals, working with hospital staff in the delivery and pick-up of products for the Blood Bank laboratory. Assists in the inventory, receipt, stocking and distribution of supplies to various internal departments. Utilizes the computerized inventory management system to issue purchase orders for authorized supplies. Maintains and develops supplier relationships; secures and evaluates competitive bids. Assists with the monitoring of maintenance schedules for all company vehicles. Must be able to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds.
