Kauai Radio King a BBH Friend for Life The people of the Garden Island know Friends for Life Committee Chairman Ron Wiley as the voice of morning radio at KONG, one of Kauai's largest stations. Wiley regularly encourages listeners to rock and roll up their sleeves at Kauai blood drives held throughout the year.
Each island has a Friends for Life committee composed of community and business leaders who use their knowledge, resources and networks to build the blood program in their area. Wiley is one such member who often uses his on-air time to promote education and awareness of the vital role blood donation plays in the community. Wiley regularly encourages listeners to rock and roll Wiley is often consulted by a BBH representative for feedback on community participation and input on blood drive locations. He has also assisted the Blood Bank in contacting blood recipients that would like to share their story or express their gratitude. “I'm unable to donate blood, but I understand how important it is to give the gift of life. I really enjoy volunteering in this capacity on the Friends for Life committee and will always encourage others who can give to donate or volunteer to recruit if they cannot give,” Wiley said. |
