Donors Who Recruit Get a Shirt

The recently launched Send a Friend promotion gives blood donors from your company or organization another reason to take an active role in recruiting new participants to upcoming blood drives.

The promotion offers a BBH custom designed shirt for all donors who send a friend to give blood for the first time. This offer will encourage donors from your Lifesaver Club to assist you in recruiting.

“Many of our donors began giving blood because a friend, family member or co-worker encouraged them to donate,” said Blood Bank of Hawaii Donor Services Director Aaron Knapp. “We’re hoping that this promotion will encourage loyal donors to become Blood Bank of Hawaii ambassadors recruiting their family and friends to join them in their lifesaving efforts.”

How It Works
A Send a Friend card was included in the December issue of Circulate, a quarterly newsletter sent to active blood donors. Blood drive coordinators will receive additional cards prior to blood drives taking place between January 1 and March 31. You may also clip and copy the card included on the back page of this issue.

Donors fill out their name and information in the space provided, then give the card to a friend who is interested in giving the gift of life for the first time. When that friend presents the card upon their donation appointment, the Blood Bank of Hawaii will have a custom designed shirt waiting for the referring donor. Send A Friend cards must be redeemed on Oahu by March 31, 2005. Cards must be redeemed in Hilo by March 23, 2005; in Kona by April 6, 2005; on Maui by April 27, 2005 and on Kauai by June 10, 2005. With sufficient participation, the promotion will be extended through the end of next year.
