High Schools Coming Together For iDonate

Student leaders from more than 40 local high schools will learn how to coordinate successful blood drives in their schools at the Blood Bank's 2005 High School Workshop scheduled for Wednesday, October 26 from 9:00 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Japanese Cultural Center.

The event, themed “iDonate”, will feature informative presentations on the need for donors, blood drive logistics, blood biology, and blood recipient testimonials.

In the 2004 - 2005 school year, high school students provided more than 3,000 pints of blood playing an important role in meeting the needs of Hawaii’s patients. With more blood needed than ever before, the goal for 2005 - 2006 is 3,400 pints.
