Primary Purpose:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hospital Services Team Lead to join our dedicated team at Blood Bank of Hawaii in this crucial role, you will ensure the safe and efficient inventorying and distribution of life-saving blood components. You will lead daily workflow, oversee critical tasks, and maintain the highest standards of quality and customer service within our Hospital Services department. Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Coordination: Supervise and coordinate daily workflows to ensure the timely and efficient execution of tasks within the Hospital Services area.

Customer Service Excellence: Provide top-quality customer service to all hospital partners and stakeholders, ensuring their needs are met with accuracy and professionalism.

Inventory Management: Monitor and ensure proper inventory reconciliation, especially for quarantined blood components, and coordinate special inventory searches to meet hospital requests.

Shipping & Logistics: Manage plasma fractionator shipments, handle delayed or missing shipments, and coordinate special emergency requests as needed.

Quality Assurance: Oversee the completion of blood component lot releases, ensure preventive maintenance and quality control are followed on all equipment, and validate hospital services processes.

Regulatory Compliance: Maintain proper records and documentation in line with regulatory and safety standards for blood component distribution.

Training and Development: Provide performance feedback and assist in training staff to ensure high-quality service and operational efficiency.

Problem Resolution: Address and resolve customer complaints or issues promptly and efficiently, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Specialized Laboratory Work: Perform modifications to labeled blood components, including washing, freezing, and deglycing, in compliance with all protocols.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• Previous experience as a Blood Bank of Hawaii Hospital Services Technician is preferred.

• Prior medical or clinical laboratory experience is highly desirable.

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional certifications or training in laboratory procedures is a plus.

Skills:

Deep understanding of blood bank procedures, regulations, and quality control standards.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making abilities.

Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to effectively interact with diverse individuals and teams.

Strong organizational and time management skills, able to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure.

Excellent oral, written, and reading comprehension skills.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new software applications.

A professional attitude and demeanor when interacting with colleagues and hospital partners.

Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in the laboratory.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Range: $21.00/hour – $23.00/hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

8-hour shift

Day shift

Evening shift

Monday to Friday

Weekends as needed
