Key Responsibilities:
• Promote and uphold Blood Bank of Hawaii’s mission, values, and organizational goals
• Represent leadership to ensure productivity and quality standards are consistently met
• Identify future operational needs and implement process improvements as appropriate
• Oversee and monitor donor blood collection services to ensure efficiency and quality
• Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Collaborate with donors, businesses, and the community to maximize donations and enhance customer experience
• Monitor and manage operational expenses
• Support development and implementation of procedures and process improvements
• Partner with recruitment team to achieve donor collection goals
• Assist in setting departmental and apheresis collection goals
• Participate in production planning and oversee product quality control
• Hire, train, and evaluate staff; conduct performance reviews
• Track and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) monthly
• Ensure staff have proper training, tools, and resources
• Manage, coach, schedule, and support Collections Supervisors and staff
• Investigate operational issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions
• Support employee development, succession planning, and ongoing training opportunities
• Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education:
• High School Diploma or GED required
• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related field (preferred)
Experience:
• 3–5 years of supervisory experience or 1–2 years of supervisory experience with a bachelor’s degree
• Experience in a healthcare-related field (preferred)
• Management experience in healthcare operations (preferred)
• Blood banking experience (preferred)
