Primary Purpose:
As a member of our Donor Recruitment team, you’ll be the first point of contact via phone for potential blood donors. Our most successful team members are energetic, organized, and dedicated high achievers who understand that every phone call has the potential to save three lives.

Located:
- Young Street Donor Center located in the McCully area.
Work Hours:
- Hours may vary but must be available to work from:
- Monday- Saturday (Full Time)
- Mon-Fri (8:00am – 4:30pm), (Sat 8:00am- 400pm)
Experience:
- No Experience necessary: Fully paid Training
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Call and schedule appointments with blood donors.
- Contact potential donors by phone, using provided call lists or responding to incoming inquiries, to set up appointments.
- Conduct phone interviews with donors to assess eligibility for the Blood Bank of Hawaii.
- Collect and verify donor information to ensure safety and accurately update records in the donor database.
- Schedule donor appointments, ensuring eligibility, and enter data into the system.
- Acknowledge, reassure, and thank donors in accordance with guidelines.
- Meet appointment scheduling goals with minimal customer complaints.
- Ensure calls are courteous and professional; respond to donor questions and needs appropriately.
- Accurately update and maintain donor profiles in the database.
- Maintain positive relationships with staff, donors, and the public while providing excellent customer service.
- Follow procedures for new donor recruitment programs to increase donor base and blood supply.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Ability to type 45 words per minute and be PC literatee.
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written) with the ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Good listening skills, with the ability to gauge a donor’s interest in donating.
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills to work with diverse individuals.
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills, especially under pressure.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
- Collaborative and team-oriented approach to ensure smooth operations.
